10 Ways to Decorate Your Pages
Decorating your scrapbook may be one of the best parts of scrapbooking, but sometimes, it can be easy to get stuck. If you’re a scrapbooker who is looking for some new ideas, check out this list of then different ways to decorate your pages:
- Add pressed flowers, leaves, shells, seeds, or other organic materials to give a page a more natural feel.
- Use ribbons instead of paper as a photo border. It’ll add so much more dimension!
- Don’t be afraid to make your own embellishments. Many of us buy the pre-made ones, but if you want a scrapbook that’s truly unique, get cracking on some original embellishments!
- Have an empty page next to your scrapbook layout to use for journaling. Have a loved one (or yourself) write down the memories that surround the photos on the opposite page.
- Include non-traditional scraps, such as ticket stubs, receipts, program pages, or newspaper clippings in with your pages.
- Play with texture by using texture papers or fabric as part of your scrapbooking layout.
- Use photos of all different shapes and sizes. Use craft scissors to cut out different borders or shapes.
- Swap supplies with a friend. Get together with a fellow scrapbooker and ask to swap supplies so that you both get a unique decorating perspective.
- Use postage stamps, stickers, or stampers to add something special to your pages
